Reflections To Close Out 2023

As I look back on this year, it has been a mix of all kinds of experiences and adventures.  I have been challenged deeply, and created experiences to be in joy and wonder of the beauty around me.  I have stepped out of my comfort zone to try new things, and released a lot – physical possessions, emotional experiences and grief, and belief systems I have carried with me for more than half, if not all, my life.

In the midst of all the darkness one might see in the world at any given point in time, I have learned to maintain my peace.  That isn’t as easy when the challenges are on my doorstep, but I always seem to be guided back to my heart.  I am grateful for the friends in my life that are gifted with tools to show me the way.

I have much to be grateful for.  I live in a beautiful place and have had the opportunity to explore and enjoy various parts of the Island this year.  I still have a lot more to explore and look forward to many more adventures in the coming year.

I am grateful for the garden I have access to and the opportunity to grow my own food.  It was a year of great abundance.  It gave me joy to produce and preserve food for myself and be able to share the abundance with others in various ways.  Early this afternoon, December 31st, I was still able to harvest a bit of Kale and Chard and spend a bit of time cleaning up those plants.  I am grateful for the mild weather that has allowed for these plants to continue to grow in the winter months.

My neighbour’s cat likes to hang out with me when I am working in the garden.  Today was no exception.  I am grateful for the moments she chooses to spend time with me. She has been a sweet presence in my life.

I am grateful for family and friends, those near and far, your love and support has been and continues to be incredibly important to me.

I am grateful for all the connections I have made this year.  Whether it be through hiking groups, visiting with my neighbours as we putter about in our gardens, chatting with familiar faces in the grocery stores, or visiting with like hearted new friends for lunch, there have been many new connections.  I also can’t forget about the friendships forged through various online communities and through my work.

I am grateful for all the clients and students I have been able to be in service to, both in person and online.  I have taught classes almost every month and offered many sessions throughout the year.  It feeds my soul to be in service in this way and to share my gifts with others.  It also carries me deeper into what is mine to do in this world.  I know there is so much more within me to offer and I look forward to what emerges in the coming year.

I leave this year behind, feeling grateful, peaceful, full of love, aware of the power I carry within me to impact the world around me and my own experience.  I look forward with excitement and anticipation of the coming year.  Expansion, adventure, joy, love, peace, wonder, gratitude, and abundance are the words I carry with me into 2024. I wish the same for you.

Blessings to you and much love.
