I enter into the darkness. My body and spirit have been craving this time to be in the silent stillness of this darkest of nights and to dive deep into its shadows, to cocoon, and rest and allow my being to integrate all that I have experienced over the past year.
The lights turned low, candles burning, meditation music to sooth my soul. Outside I listen to the sound of rain on the roof and cars travelling by. Inside, my sanctuary is the quiet place to still my mind and open my heart to the light of the Divine.
This past year has been a time of great change and transformation. It has been a sacred walk, shedding old skin, and embracing the new, adjusting to a new reality without living parents, and starting new projects. Over the past few months I have engaged in powerful, sacred work, called into collective collaboration that is even beyond my understanding. It has been a process entered into with deep humility and faith that leaves me in awe of the power of the Divine, Creator, God, and all the unseen realms beyond our field of vision and consciousness.
It has been a lesson in faith, as is the lesson this longest night brings. Sometimes when we allow ourselves to become still, we can hear the calling of an ancient voice deep within the essence of our being. It is the spark to our awakening, the key that unlocks the door to commitments made long ago to be here at this time.
Faith is being willing to answer that call and say yes to that voice. It is stepping into the darkness of the unknown and trusting you will find your way. For each one of us that call is different. We each have our own unique role to play, even those that you would be loath to believe have any purpose in being who they are.
We often fear the darkness, and yet here we are in this dark night. When embraced, it is really quite beautiful, peaceful and magical. All it takes is the light of a single candle, the love of a single heart to transform the darkness. Tomorrow the light begins to return. The knowingness of that is faith.
For some reading this that may be in the darkest of places in their lives and it sometimes feels too painful to continue, hope and faith that the light will return is where the strength to get through another day is found. Know that you are loved.
Sending out rays of Diamond Light with Blessings of Love and Peace to All of Humanity and All of Creation this blessed evening. Whatever your beliefs, may you be surrounded and filled by the Light of Christ and Love of the Divine.
