A Moment to Breathe

I chose today, to get out of the city.  I didn’t know where to go.  I just wanted a short getaway with my partner to find a quiet place, out in nature and by water.  As we were driving, I remembered this park just south of Winnipeg, a few minutes outside of the city.

So here we are, with a blanket on the grass, on the banks of a river.  There is a walking bridge to our left and wooded land on the opposite shore.  The water is gently flowing, the birds are singing, there is a gentle breeze, and the sun is shining.  Every now and then people pass by in canoes or kayaks along the river.

I saw my first dragonfly of the season today – an affirmation that I am right where I am supposed to be.  There is perfection in this moment.

“May the Sun bring you new energy every day.
May the moon softly restore you  by night.
May the rain wash away your worries.
May the breeze blow new strength into your being.
May you walk gently through this world and know it’s beauty
all the days of your life.”
