A Healing Journey

I felt guided to come here today – to this sacred space – to the Medicine Wheel.  I am here for meditation and healing.

Somehow I expected to be the only one here today, but there have been a lot of people milling around, including a group of boy scouts.  I must be invisible to them because they walk right through my protective circle of cedar, where I am obviously doing some sort of ritual.  I have a smudge of sage and cedar smoldering next to me.  The irritation I feel in the moment is released as they move on and I am able to continue with meditation.

I am lying on this rock with my hands and feet directly connected so I can feel the energy flow through my body.  My whole being fills with this brilliant, warm, golden light.  It is a windy day.  A thin layer of clouds are painting pictures of angel’s wings against the bright blue sky.  It is the first day of autumn.

The pain in my heart has lessened since I arrived here.  I am filled with peace.  I am not thinking about what has gone on before this moment and am not concerned about what is to come.  I am oblivious to what is happening around me and yet I am completely connected to all of it.

When I left the city, three geese flew past me while I waited at a stop light.  I smiled, knowing this was confirmation of this journey today.  Dragonflies flew by my car as I travelled along the highway and crossed my path as I walked toward the Medicine Wheel at Bannock Point.  A grasshopper entered my space to clear the energy for my time here.

The trees inside the Medicine Wheel are tied full with coloured cloth, blowing in the breeze.  They hold offering of tobacco.  Several wind chimes hang from a rope tied between two trees.  The sound of the chimes is a reminder of the presence of Spirit.

For this brief period of time, I am completely present.  There is no separation.  I am connected to all that is.
