There is so much talk and so much action around the world today about awareness. Lives are changing with break neck speed. People are waking up to realize they’ve been playing a role like an actor on a stage and find it doesn’t fit any more.
So when you wake up and discover this role you’ve played isn’t you, no longer fits and is unsustainable, who to be?
That seems the most perplexing question prevalent at the moment. When you’ve decided its time to exit stage left of whatever drama you find you’ve been playing. What comes next can be daunting.
It seems it must be like having amnesia, waking up thinking, “Who am I?” and finding that question has a multitude of infinitely possible answers.
No wonder there is so much fear in the world. We are lost. We have lost our way by following the thinking of the brain and ego, having lost the way of the heart, the faith in one’s connection to source.
We all have infinite choice of what to think, what to feel, how to be, who to be and the response ability that goes with that choice. As you read this if you are thinking, “No, but I have to. . . and I’m stuck with. . . ” Then it may be time to tell yourself a different story.
I’m reminded of the movie “The Secret” with the “miracle man” who crashed his plane and was told he could never breathe on his own, couldn’t swallow and eat on his own. He was in a hospital bed on a ventilator and the only thing he could do to communicate was blink his eyes. Once they set a system of communication he blinked that he would leave the hospital under his own power by Christmas. He listened to his body and breathed past the ventilator til he could breathe on his own, he kept a “can do” attitude in his mind and heart at all times and visualized himself walking. By Christmas of that year, despite the fact that he needed the help of a walker, he did walk out of that hospital under his own power.
Don’t buy into the hype! Don’t buy into the expiration dates that are stamped on you by people who have limited knowledge of who you can truly be. What if the mainstream is (from a broader view), a spiral flush down into a porcelain bowl? I endeavor to be a leaf on the stream, but not the main stream!
The key in my mind and according to so many wise ones who have gone before is to follow your bliss to what your true life purpose is. What brings you joy? What makes you giggly like a teenager to even think about doing it? What thrills you so much that you can’t wait to wake up in the morning to see what treasures the next day will present? It seems scary because its not a known path, to you. To the universe, (or whatever name resonates with you) the path is well known and much patience has been exercised waiting for you to discover that it was there for you all along.
Dare to dream of who you can choose to become, no matter what other appearance the world is offering you right now. If we all dared to stretch to our highest and best notion of ourselves we would be living in a different world indeed! It can be the greatest ride you ever imagined!
