It seems far and few between that I have an afternoon all to myself, when I don’t have things like laundry or grocery shopping to do. Today, I am grateful to have such a day.
It is a very cold winter day, so going for a walk is not something I am willing to do today, even though the sky is a bright blue and there are birds flitting about in the bare trees on my street – the small birds that stay through the cold of winter. Their bodies must be well protected from the cold.
Today I choose to spend my time in meditation, and reading. My meditation fountain is gurgling in the background, Reiki infused candles are sharing their scent and their light and energy. I sit in the warmth and comfort of my home, just being still.
I can usually make myself very busy with life, and get distracted easily by work and other things going on around me. I am grateful for moments like this when I choose to put all that aside to calm my mind and slow down my body giving it all some space to breathe and rest. These are the moments when I can find some perspective and pay attention to what my guides and Spirit have to share with me.
I am grateful for this time to honour myself. My partner and I have commented recently on one of the beautiful things about our relationship is having moments, like today, where we each choose to do something that is important to us and are okay with allowing each other the space to do that. We honour each other and ourselves in this way.
I didn’t really have a plan. I just let this time unfold in whatever way I felt guided to go. In this moment, it was exactly what I needed. I feel a sense of calm and contentment that my life is where it is supposed to be at this time. All is well. Namaste.

For most of my 46 years this has been and currently is the place I call home. I have been working in Financial Services for the past 16 years educating people about their finances, helping them restructure and reduce debt, invest for the future and properly protect their families. A strong sense that there is something more I am supposed to do in the world, a fascination with energy and a series of intuitive nudges has led me to begin practising Reiki and now ThetaHealing®. I have a desire to learn and practise other healing modalities, as well as serve children and empower young women around the world. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts and stories with you.”
